UNFINISHED SPACES

En 1961, Fidel Castro y el Che Guevara encargaron a tres jóvenes arquitectos el diseño de las Escuelas Nacionales de Arte en los antiguos terrenos de un campo de golf. La construcción comenzó inmediatamente. Todos celebraron la belleza del conjunto, pero las obras se interrumpieron de repente. Casi cincuenta años más tarde, las escuelas siguen funcionando, pero permanecen sin acabar.

In 1961, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara appointed three young architects to make the design of the building for National School of Arts in the land of a former golf course.  The construction of this emblematic building started immediately.  Everybody celebrated the great beauty of the design, but suddenly the works were interrupted.  Almost 50 years later, the School is still working, but the building remained unfinished.
